For about a week every Spring, cherry trees in Japan go into full
bloom, and the whole country goes absolutely nuts. They celebrate
what is probably the most beautiful part of Japan by doing hanami.
This literally translates to "flower watching." It consists of
sitting outside, looking at the flowers, drinking sake, talking,
drinking sake, eating, and drinking sake. We also drank a bit of
sake.
